Natalie King-Shaw (she/her/ella) is a Ph.D. student at Harvard in Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology (SHBT) and a Doctoral Research Fellow in the Speech and Language (SAiL) Literacy Lab at the MGH Institute for Health Professions. Natalie aims to apply her research and practice to increase culturally and linguistically-affirming educational spaces. She is particularly interested in supporting the ethnic-racial identity development of Black elementary students in predominantly white learning environments. This has been a main focus of her work as the Founder and Executive Director of the A.M.A.N.I. Project, a mentorship program by Black college students for Black elementary students in predominately white/minority Black schools.

Natalie is excited to learn from the AERID lab and leverage research to build spaces for Black students to feel safe, seen, and supported to thrive from K-12 to higher education and beyond. Natalie earned her B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences with minors in Spanish and Leadership Development from San Diego State University.
