Ishani Parekh
Ishani is an Ed.M. graduate from the Education Policy & Analysis program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Prior to her studies at Harvard, Ishani was a high-school English teacher which grounded her commitment to addressing educational inequities for low-income, youth of color. She went on to co-found an educational non-profit working with youth from marginalised communities across the UK, the Middle East, and North Africa. Ishani’s work focuses on young people’s capacity to transform structural inequities through liberators education models, critical pedagogy, and participatory action research. She is currently a matriculating doctoral student at the University of Oxford, with a focus on conceptualising reparations and reparative justice in systems of schooling through community-based research. Ishani is delighted and honored to join the AERID team and be a part of this crucial work.
