David Bates

David Bates
David Bates is currently an Ed.M. candidate in the language & literacy program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, and he is interested in how language development and literature influence identity development. Prior to HGSE, David earned a BA in English from the University of Rochester and an MA in the humanities from the University of Chicago. He has also taught at a public school in Tulsa as well as at a charter school in Boston. He enjoys helping his students develop their literacy abilities along with raising their critical consciousness.
