Luis Gonzalez-Quizhpe

Luis HeadshotLuis Gonzalez-Quizhpe is currently an Ed.M. candidate in the Human Development and Education program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Fellow at the Immigration Initiative at Harvard. His research interests lie on supporting ethnic-racial identity development of immigrant-origin Latine and Indigenous Latine youth, and understanding these processes within both urban and rural contexts as they navigate within host education systems and societies. More specifically, he is interested in supporting ERI developmental processes for Indigenous Kichwa youth residing within diasporas of the United States and in Ecuador. He is also interested in fortifying the Ecuadorian Intercultural Bilingual Education (IBE) system in its support of Indigenous youth ethnic-racial identity development through curriculum development. 

Luis is proudly Kichwa Saraguro, and his identity has greatly informed and influenced his academic and professional work. He holds an M.A. in Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a certificate in Chican@ and Latin@ Studies.
