Shandra M. Jones

Shandra Jones Shandra Jones is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Human Development Learning and Teaching concentration at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to beginning the doctoral program, Shandra served as director of student services, admissions and diversity and inclusion in higher education and was a member of the Board of Trustees of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, a non-profit dedicated to diversifying management leadership by recruiting diverse talent to graduate management education. Shandra is interested in exploring the ways in which ethnic-racial identity development serves as an asset for underrepresented students and the intersectional relationship between ethnic-racial identity and other domains of identity, such as class and gender.  Ultimately, her goal is to close the college completion gap by understanding how colleges and universities might better support marginalized students’ positive academic and career outcomes through supporting student identity development. Shandra holds a BA in Political Science from Stanford University where she focused on international conflict transformation.  She earned her MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focused on strategy and finance.
